Danny Colville - OCBS November Guest Speaker

Danny Colville, owner of Colville Outfitters in Hamburg NY will be the featured speaker at our November 19 membership meeting at the Emerald Necklace Marina café in Lakewood, OH.

Danny is one of the top center pin fishermen in the Great Lakes region and has a lot of good information to share with OCBS members about fishing the Lower Niagara River and center pin fishing for Great Lakes steelhead.

Danny has also developed a line of center pin reels for both Great Lakes steelhead fishing as well as for smaller stocked trout creeks.

Danny is one of our premier speakers this year that you do not want to miss. It should be a good time!

Prime Rib Dinner for only $25

We will be holding our annual Christmas party on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Winking Lizard Party Center located at 25200 Miles Road Bedford Heights, OH from 6 PM to 10 PM. We will also celebrate our clubs 40th Anniversary.

We will celebrate the holiday season with a delicious catered buffet dinner featuring a menu of:

Prime Rib
Chicken Piccata
Garden Salad
Roasted Red Skin Potatoes
Green Beans
Dinner rolls, Soft drinks and coffee

The cost for dinner is only $25 per person, which is approximately 1/2 our cost or $48 per dinner including tax and gratuities.

There will be a cash bar featuring a good selection of craft beer, wine and mixed drinks.

Larry will also be serving his popular smoked steelhead during cocktail hour.

Reservations are Required to be Made by November 27

Reservations are required to attend the Christmas Party. We need to communicate the number of attendees to the Winking Lizard by November 27.

2024 Barbie Rod Tournament

Barbie Rod Tournament was held on Saturday March 30th, 2024. It generated $13,545 for Cleveland Metroparks Fishing Fund which is a record.

OCBS conducted the raffle which generated $5,682 of the total.

Thanks to OCBS members John Beedlow Jr, John Beedlow III, Jim Berryman, Bob Hajek, Scott Grossnickle, Ben Mott, John Brochue and Tom Blotzer for working the Barbie Rod raffle this year.

The money raised will help assure there are plenty of fish in the Cleveland Metroparks lakes and streams for kids fishing programs and local anglers alike.

Our annual OCBS Steelhead Fishing tournament, sponsored by Erie Outfitters, is for OCBS members only. If not a member, you are welcome to join OCBS in order to register for the tournament.

Members can register for this year’s tournament as follows:

  1. US Postal Service: Print the below registration form, fill it out and mail with check for payment to OCBS PO Box 29577 Parma, OH 44129.
  2.  Online: Complete online registration form and credit card payment on our tournament page. Click here to go to online registration.
  3. OCBS Meetings: You can register and pay in person at our monthly meetings.

All participants are required to fish with another OCBS member who is in the tournament and is responsible for verifying the length of each fish checked in.

Check in has been modified to permit members to call or text their catch to the Tournament Director.

Entry fee is $20.00 per participant.
